After a storied past spanning three centuries, the Château de Fonscolombe near Aix-en-Provence recently opened its doors to the public after an extensive renovation. This residence, classified as a historical monument and hitherto only used for private occasions, has been transformed into a five-star hotel. The Château de Fonscolombe has stood in the limelight of history since the 18th century, when it was home to enlightened figures and lustrous festivities.
